In 1993, non-tidal Potomac River hunting came to a screeching halt. Antiquated and confusing regulations had caused a deep rift between hunters and Law Enforcement. Something had to change and that something would come at the expense of waterfowl hunters. A group of hunters formed the Potomac River Waterfowler's Association to meet with Natural Resource Police in an open forum to fairly address the issues. The PRWA was born on that day, and our mission and voice was heard loud and clear. That special day for waterfowlers was just as important then as it is now for the future of Maryland waterfowling.
