2008 Youth Essay Contest
The Maryland Waterfowler's Association is sponsoring 2 youth hunts for the 2008 youth waterfowl hunt held in November. To enter in the Essay Contest to win one of the hunts, simply send us an essay on "Why I would like to hunt waterfowl on Maryland's 2008 Youth Hunting Day" in 200 words or less. This contest will be available to all youth's age 15 and under.
Each entry will automatically receive a free MDWFA youth membership or an extension to their current youth membership which includes an MDWFA decal and a waterfowl ID book. All essays must be received by September 1, 2008. Two winners will be chosen on September 14, 2008 at the MDWFA annual picnic by MDWFA judges. Winning essays will be notified immediately. All winners must meet the following conditions on the day of the hunt: 1) Each youth hunter must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult age 21 or older. 2) Each hunter must meet all Maryland DNR youth hunting requirements and abide by all applicable game laws. The sponsoring MDWFA landowner or representative will have full control over this hunt. No adult will have a firearm in possession at any time.
